SERGE LARIONOFF - 1980
Serge Larionoff (1986-1966) was a conservatory-trained musician from St. Petersburg, Russia who conducted the Balalaika Orchestra of Detroit for over 25 years. Not only did he create arrangements of Russian folk music, but music of many nations and peoples, ranging from his "Jewish Selections" to "Selections of Irish Tunes" and his medley of Stephen Foster tunes, "Southern Melodies." Most of Serge Larionoff's arrangements are catalogued and are available through the BDAA.
